Previously we have discussed the BCG and Hepatitis B immunization for your child. This time we will discuss immunization Polio, DPT and Measles. All of this is immunization immunizations must be given to your child.
Given six times, which is when your baby is born, ages 2, 4, 6, 18 months and 5 years of age:
Polio-0, the first polio vaccine, given in a hospital or home birth, when the baby is discharged. Or if not given at the time of the first visit when baby check-up.
Polio-1, the second Polio vaccine, given at the time the child was 2 months old, can be given along with DPT-1.
Polio-2, three Polio vaccine, given at the time the child is age 4 months, and can be given along with DPT-2.
Polio-3, fourth Polio vaccine can be given along with DPT-3, by the time your baby is 6 months old.
Polio-4 fifth Polio vaccine, given at 18 months of age, and may coincide with the DPT vaccine-4.
Polio-5, the last polio vaccine (given at the time the child is 5 years old and can simultaneously with DPT vaccine-5.
A vaccine for the disease Diphtheria, Pertussis and Tetanus, given that as many as 6 times during your child aged 2, 4, 6, 18 and 12 months and 5 years.
DPT-1 was given when the child was 2 months old, he was already at least 6 weeks. Can be combined with Hib vaccine-1.
DPT-2, when the child was 4 months old, can be given separately or combined with Hib vaccine-2.
DPT-3, as well as, by the time your child age 6 months.
DPT-4, given at age 18 months, or a year after the DPT-3.
DPT-5, is given in when she was 5 years old. DPT-6, is given when the child is aged 12 years old or 6th grade, usually given only dT or TT, DPT is not anymore.
Given when the child was 9 months old and 6 years old. Measles vaccine is given at age-1 child is 9 months. Medium-2 Measles vaccine is given when the child was 6 years old or has entered the 1st grade, is a program of Children School Immunization Month (BIAS). But if your child has received the MMR vaccine at age 15 months, the vaccine Measles-2 need not be given again.
