Earth Hour (EH), the world’s largest environmental movement launched a campaign this year based on the success that has been achieved in 2012 ago. Starting from 2007, Earth Hour is growing rapidly. The indicator can be seen from the number of participant countries, cities, and individual supporters.
From the latest data (2012), EH notes support 2 billion people in 7001 cities, from 152 countries. It’s astounding number of energy saving actions in the context of mass-based support.
EH campaign in Indonesia this year is different from previous years. Starting from February 22, and will end on Earth Day, April 22, 2013. Action this year showed that the campaign was not just the action of EH 1 hour each year, but the action constantly.
Post implementation, EH 2012 released a documentary video through social networking. The video is expected to be a motivation to support and actively participate in the campaign this year EH.
Also held Earth Hour video competition with attractive prizes, as well as a discussion on February 27, 2013 that a forum to exchange information for journalists, bloggers, and representatives of the town EH team in Greater Jakarta.

In its development, many of the actions taken as a follow-up campaign EH. One of them, planting mangroves on the coast of Java Sea through programNEWtrees (for corporations) and MyBabyTree (for individual donations).
The action was later named “MyBabyMangrove”, it becomes a salvage container mangrove forest cover in the coastal area, which incidentally has a role in protecting coastal and residential buildings, as well as agriculture and fisheries in the vicinity of the wave, wind and storms, as well as water intrusion sea.
For those concerns, planting mangrove trees at an early stage will be held in Muara Gembong, Bekasi. Gembong Estuary mangrove forest is part of the mangrove ecosystem on the north coast of Jakarta Bay. Namely, from Tanjung Pasir, Tangerang, Banten, until the end of Karachi.
